My WrestleMania 33 card (Sponsored by UCW)

With WrestleMania tickets on sale soon and rumours of the Royal Rumble already happening, you know it’s nearly time for the grandest wrestling spectacle of the year.

So to further increase the anticipation, I am writing my predictions on the card for WrestleMania 33.

I will start off by saying that with the event being held in Orlando (home of NXT and the performance centre) it will include a tremendous amount of home grown NXT talent. It fits and is familiar with the crowd.

Before I start, this is all my opinion. I am open to changes and will not bite back if you disagree, it is all for fun. Let me know what you guys think with a comment below. Don’t forget this blog is sponsored by Upbrawl Championship Wreslting!  Check their Facebook here:

I’ve included a list of roster members that I can not place on this card because of their relevance now. These include: The New Day, American Alpha, The Club, Dean Ambrose, Rusev, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe. I can see these guys performing at the spectacle but I just can’t place them at the moment. And of course, Big Show Vs Shaq that does not interest me in the slightest to write about. Right let’s go!

Rich Swann Vs Brian Kendrick Vs TJ Perkins Vs Gran Metalik Vs Cedric Alexander Vs Sin Cara (Elimination Match for the Cruiserweight Title)

There has to be a Kickoff and these guys would start it for me. Nothing special going on here.

A generic, quick cruiserweight match with inventive spots by all six men.

Winner: Brian Kendrick

With the run he is getting at the moment, Brian Kendrick will win the title in these next few months. He will turn face and get his WrestleMania moment…  at kickoff. (I wrote this before Hell in a Cell).

Heath Slater & Rhyno Vs The Hype Bros (SmackDown Tag Titles)

Yes I know my Kickoff matches are not that inventive but when I was making this you have to think of the performers who will be in specific matches instead of being thrown in the battle royal. I envision Slater & Rhyno being fan favourites in the arena and I hope Ryder does not go back to being in the shadows of WWE.

Again nothing special. However, the break up between Slater and Rhyno may occur after WrestleMania. I don’t see Rhyno sticking around for long and with Slater’s momentum now he could use that in his solo career.

Winners: Health Slater & Rhyno

Main Card

The Miz Vs Dolph Ziggler Vs Apollo Crews Vs Bray Wyatt Vs Curt Hawkins Vs Baron Corbin Vs Hideo Atami (Intercontinental Title Ladder Match)

We commence with the demolition derby style ladder match.

A super showing from all athletes. Hideo will debut on SmackDown within the new year, similar to Sami Zayn’s Raw debut from last year. I can just see his personality on the blue brand more than the red brand. Hideo will be the favourite to win.

Nevertheless, with all these crazy people performing insane spots from every angle. I see Wyatt capitalising on a weakened Hideo by throwing him off the ladder. Giving Wyatt the time to undo the strap and boom! New champ.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

It is no surprise I adore Bray Waytt’s demeaner. He is fully deserving of winning any title he goes for. I don’t think he needs this minor title but it will put him in the history books. He would look sweet with that belt.

AJ Styles Vs Randy Orton (WWE World Championship)

This was thrown in but AJ Styles will be champion for a long time.

AJ will go through all the vetarians of WWE, like he is doing, and run his mouth saying “They don’t want none” at WrestleMania.

Out comes The Viper, the former Legend Killer will return to this charecter trait saying he needs to kill the legend of The Phenominal One.

They deliver at Mania with a technical masterpiece and a reversed RKO from The Phenomenal Forearm. Styles wins with his feet on the ropes to secure his victory and defining WrestleMania moment.

Winner: AJ Styles

AJ is an entertaining champion and a key point to why SmackDown is doing so well. Keeping him with the title only makes things better and will make SmackDown must see.

Sasha Banks Vs Bayley (Raw Women’s Championship in a Steel Cage)

Sasha and Bayley III deserves to be showcased at WrestleMania.

Sasha will make a heel turn within the next couple of months. She has gone back and forth with the Women’s Championship and will win again in true bad girl fashion.

Bayley will question Sasha’s behaviour and attitude, sparking a rivalry between the two. They will battle at Fastlane (or whatever Raw PPV will be in February) with Sasha walking out halfway through the match.

The Hugger will then come out the next night on Raw and challenge The Boss to a match she can’t run away from… a Steel Cage match.

We had the historic triple threat last year at Mania now let’s use that momentum and excitement to develop everyone’s expectations of women’s wrestling by furthering the brutality. In every trilogy, the third match in any rivalry is always extremely violent.

I can’t begin to describe how I see this match. Just give these two a ring and it is magic. Imagine what they can do inside the cage.

Winner: Bayley

She is rightfully deserving of this opportunity and no doubt will provide the ultimate feel good moment in WrestleMania history.

Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman Vs Shinsuke Nakamura w/ William Regal

This would be my show stealing match of the night. The plot goes as it follows.

On Raw in March 2017, Brock is looking for competition at WrestleMania, Heyman says there is no one on Raw or SmackDown that can beat his client.

Out comes William Regal to a huge pop. Regal states The Beast’s accomplishments but says he has the perfect competitor for Brock. The King of Strong Style makes his debut on Raw by challenging Lesnar to a WrestleMania dream match. They both agree to the match.

In the build up, we learn that both Heyman and Regal will be ringside mangers at their representertives side. In Raw segements, Heyman and Regal go at each other in an exchange of words. Paul Heyman would ultimately lash out on the NXT talent Regal has produced, thus making him the heel to the Orlando crowd. Boo Brock Boo! Nakamura and Lesnar occasional lash out on each other with Brock gaining the upper hand. It does not look good for Shinsuke.

On the night of WrestleMania, Lesnar will look dominant and powerful as always. But with a general back and forth match, Nakamura would deliver numerous Kinshasas to the head earning him the surprising victory.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

The Beast has been defeated!

Andre The Ginat Memorial Battle Royal

Last years was amazing. The beautiful man known as Baron Corbin won it as a surprise entrant. This year, I pick a superstar who I hope gains more oppurtnitys next year.

Winner: Braun Strowman

That’s right. The face of destruction, Braun Strowman, is my winning pick. I feel Strowman is underrated. Television does not do this man justice, the man is taller than the Big Show. Not many people can claim that and these past few weeks on Raw, his booking has been amazing.

This match will be a good opportunity to show this man’s strength, power and agression. He would elimate the majority of people with the final two competitors being him & Luke Harper. Two former brothers clashing is always a great story. I love Braun Strowman and think 2017 will be a fantastic year for the guy.

Kevin Owens Vs Seth Rollins Vs Finn Balor (WWE Universal Title)

If I would schedule a main event for this years Mania, it would be these three. I imagine Owens will reign as champion till the pay per view by winning in all heel like fashion.

My pick for this years Royal Rumble winner is Finn Ballor. He will return from injury and be one of the last to enter as a surprise entrant. Thus earning him his title match against Owens.

However, I think HHH Vs Rollins will happen on the road to WrestleMania where Seth will win and earn a championship opportunity by beating The Game.

A triple threat match where every superstar was NXT Champion before debuting on Raw. Something nobody thought they would ever see.

Winner: Kevin Owens

I will put money on former NXT talent main eventing the show of shows. It just has to happen with WrestleMania in Orlando, Florida. These three will have big matches on the card if my prediction is wrong.

The Undertaker Vs John Cena

The match that was schedualed for last years event, The Deadman Vs Mr Hustle, Loyalty & Respect. On paper it sounds amazing and if this happened we would be looking at one of the greatest matches of all time.

I personally think Taker is the greatest character in WWE history and I find it disappointing that he is not mentioned nearly enough in that league. He has done it all but then so has Cena.

The last time we saw these two against each other was over a decade ago and they both have grown as performers.

A match of two generations of WWE that have faded, The Attitude Era Vs The PG Era. A nostalgic match that would also be a send off for The Undertaker’s flawless career.

Big Evil can work like he did in the early 2000s and when he returned at WrestleMania 31 he looked in outstanding shape. It would be heartbreaking yet well deserved to have your last match against one of the most popular superstar in wrestling history.

Winner: The Undertaker

Make it happen WWE, make it happen.

Thanks again guys.
